Virtual STEM Fair 2021
Middle School : Pollution
Caralise & Ruby
During this past year, our community went through a winter storm where many thousands of people lost power and water. It’s important to prove to people how to use recycling to build homemade water filters for emergencies. After the filter is used, people must boil their water for it to be safe. To sum this up, if people don’t have water, this is a great tool to get water for drinking and sanitizing your hands.

We made a project showing WHY not to throw all your trash in the ocean. Throwing trash in the ocean is polluting the ocean and is also bad for the environment. Each year billions of pounds of trash and other bad things enter the ocean each year. The trash ends up on the bottom of the sea and is mistaken as food by animals, others end up in waves and onto beaches. A trash island in the Great Pacific ocean is where a lot of trash gets collected. This is terrible for the environment and bad for the animals in the sea.

We decided to put a little spin on the theme of the project because we are passionate about the social structure of all saints. We decided to talk about the social ecosystem and environment we all experience especially as young women. Our project is a podcast and all the hosts are the group members and we share our thoughts on friend groups amd how all saints had communicated to us how we fit into the school society. We hope you enjoy :)

Hi, my name is Ceci Torres. I wanted to do my project on water pollution because scientists say by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish and I want to raise awareness about that. I decided to do my project on Minecraft because I love Minecraft and I think it is a fun way to make video games useful.

My project is about how air pollution can affect household pets. I explain how air pollution affects pets and humans. I also explain that even if your pets live inside air pollution can still harm them.

Our project was to show the effects of pollution with Minecraft. We provided facts about how pollution affects the planet. We all put in work and we created this world to showcase the effects of big factories in nature.

I coded a skit on scratch about light pollution. It talks about how it affects our view of the stars and the sleeping patterns of nocturnal animals. You don’t play it like a game its more like a slideshow.

Our project is about how pollution hurts animals and is bad for the environment. We tried to make a fun little video to help kids to pick up their trash and not litter. We all came up with the little rhyme together and sang it in our video so everyone could remember the tune.

My project is about the growing threat of light pollution. Light pollution is when light seeps into areas that it is not intended to, such as someone's bedroom at night or an animal's den. My project also goes over potential fixes for light pollution and side effects on people and the surrounding environment.
